We are working with a reputable BCA-registered contractor specializing in the design and construction of commercial and industrial buildings in their search for a skilled Safety Coordinator here in Singapore
As a Safety Coordinator, he/she will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols on our construction sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and fostering a culture of safety among all team members.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs for construction projects
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures
- Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and ongoing education for existing staff
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and other relevant Singapore safety standards
- Liaise with government agencies, clients, and subcontractors on safety-related matters
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
- Promote a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns and initiatives
- Assist in the preparation of safety plans for new projects and tenders
Key qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field
- Valid Safety Coordinator registration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator in the construction industry, preferably with exposure to commercial and industrial projects
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore's WSH regulations and construction safety practices
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and management techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil is a plus
