We are currently representing a prominent listed construction and renewables company with a majority interest in a mining company in Indonesia. We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to oversee all financial operations and management for the mining company in Indonesia, with additional responsibilities for finance and accounts management in Singapore.
The Finance Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial governance, compliance, and operational excellence across both Indonesia and Singapore. The successful candidate will be based in Jakarta and report directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management and Controllership: Develop and oversee financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient financial management.
- Mining Operations Finance: Collaborate with operational teams to monitor mining project budgets and expenditure, conduct financial analysis, and develop financial models.
- Finance and Accounts for Singapore Operations: Oversee financial accounting, reporting, and compliance for the Singapore entity, including cross-border financial transactions and tax compliance.
- Banking and Treasury: Manage banking relationships, oversee treasury management, and negotiate banking facilities to support business growth.
- Taxation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, develop tax planning strategies, and oversee compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and manage a high-performing finance team, foster a culture of accountability, and provide mentorship and guidance.
- Strategic Planning and Reporting: Provide actionable financial insights, collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial strategies, and prepare financial reports.
- Process Improvement and Technology Adoption: Lead initiatives to digitize and automate financial processes, evaluate and implement ERP systems, and promote innovation in financial operations.
Key Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent; MBA in Finance or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Indonesia; proven experience in the mining sector or related heavy industry preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, Indonesian GAAP, and Singapore's accounting and regulatory standards; expertise in treasury management, forex risk mitigation, and investment planning.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management abilities; strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; excellent communication and presentation skills.
Work Environment:
- Location: Jakarta, Indonesia (with quarterly travel to Singapore)

Reporting Structure:
