We are currently working with one of a growing real estate and lifestyle development company based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We are looking for a Senior Designer and Art Director who not only provide strategic directions on leading marketing efforts but also lead and inspire the creative teams.
This role will not only focus on real estate development sector but also wide array of projects allowing for creative freedom. Successful candidate will be working along the Creative Director and content strategist
Key Responsibilities:
Team Direction, Coordination and Supervision ~50% of total work
- Lead the creative team by giving effective direction and ensuring work is
produced on time, on brand and on brief, with best in class standards for
both ULS and Factory projects.
- Ensure that projects are briefed accurately, with enough details and
directions for the creative team to develop each material timely and with
quality.
- Guide and motivate your team, giving them support and direction but also
building their confidence to allow them to make the right decisions.
- Work closely with the Brand Manager and Brand Strategists to ensure
an efficient use of the available resources, setting realistic and achievable
milestones and deadlines.
- Meet regularly with the Creative Director to review final creative work.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop
training programs for the team
Communication Strategy ~35% of total work
- Work closely with the Design team to propose and select the most
relevant communication concepts for each specific project.
- Attend client meetings together with the Brand Manager and/or Brand
Strategists, helping to present quality ideas and proposals that are
relevant for the client’s needs.
- Always keep an eye on art and cultural trends and happenings that may
inspire your team, the wider business and clients ensuring that the
company’s reputation of being ahead of the curve is maintained.
- Incorporate user experience planning into the communications strategies
and apply modern approaches to interaction design.
- Ensure that corporate identity and branding are duly followed, always
keeping an eye on how this shows up in promotional material, trade fair
assets and other marketing collateral.
- Assist the Senior Management team with general company strategy.
Production and Quality Control ~15% of total work
- Work closely with the Art Director and the Production team, reviewing
and critiquing all product samples, making sure that they are fit for
purpose from a creative and design standpoint.
- Investigate and sample new technologies that can broaden the role of the
Creative team and offer disruptive and exciting change to the sector.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role;
- Demonstrable experience of leading a design team or managing junior
creatives;
- Direct experience working with the Cambodian market and designing items
that speak to them;
- Experience in the real estate / property development / architecture
industry not required but desirable.
- Proficient in the use of photography and design tools (Adobe Photoshop,
InDesign, Illustrator, Capture One);
- Comfortable with sharing design files with others; ability to organize
editorial files so that another Designer can pick up the work if you are not
available;
- BA or equivalent in Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications,
Commercial Art or equivalent;
- Familiarity with design aspects and constraints of web layout, email
campaigns, social media design etc.;
- Sound comprehension of content management systems, SEO and other
non-design aspects of building websites;
- Experience using Figma, Adobe XD or similar software will be an asset;
- Strong knowledge of typography, photography, editorial layout, video
production, motion design, and printing techniques;
- Broad understanding of marketing design and layout;
- Comfortable working in conceptual 3D designs (Vector, not CAD or 3D
software);
- Ability to generate a reliable supply of original ideas and visual concepts;
- Abreast of industry, social and cultural trends;
- Passionate for advertising and commercial art, a keen eye for visual details
and accuracy;
- Has the resilience to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality work
to tight deadlines
