Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to support the management of mechanical and electrical (M&E) operations for a premier commercial property in the central business district. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain top-tier building standards and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in liaising with government bodies and consultants to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Support the implementation of workplace safety, health, and statutory guidelines in line with legal frameworks.
- Participate in budgeting processes for operational and capital expenditures.
- Assist in tender exercises for asset maintenance, upgrades, and redevelopment projects, ensuring timely execution.
- Identify building defects and coordinate necessary rectifications.
- Manage contract administration, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with service agreements.
- Support capital replacement initiatives, asset enhancement projects, and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist in planning and organizing preventive maintenance schedules for facility operations.
- Oversee environmental sustainability initiatives, including strategies for energy efficiency, carbon footprint reduction, and waste management.
- Coordinate re-certification efforts for green building standards and propose sustainability improvements.
- Draft proposals for operational and capital expenditure approvals.
- Contribute to the development of policies aimed at improving operational efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in enhancing standard operating procedures and business continuity plans.
- Support emergency response planning for facilities-related incidents.
- Propose and implement building improvement strategies, including rectification and preventive maintenance programs.
- Supervise service providers to ensure high maintenance standards and optimal building performance.
- Monitor and track sustainability data for reporting and compliance purposes.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline. Accreditation in sustainability practices (e.g., Green Mark) is a plus.
- Minimum of three years of experience managing M&E systems, ideally in large-scale commercial or retail properties.
- Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings, including as-built plans.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Preferably available to start work on short notice.
