We are working with a company specializing in providing custom design and engineering solutions with a focus on quality and innovation in seeking a highly experienced and senior Design and Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic team of 10 professionals in Malaysia.
This role is pivotal in driving innovative design solutions and ensuring engineering excellence across all projects. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise in SolidWorks and Inventor, and a strong track record of managing design and engineering functions.
Key responsibility:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of 10 designers and engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to achieve project goals.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and support professional growth.
- Oversee the creation, review, and approval of designs to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Develop and implement design strategies to optimize project efficiency and innovation.
- Utilize SolidWorks and Inventor to create and refine complex designs.
- Provide technical guidance to the team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and functionality.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to define project requirements and expectations.
- Present design concepts and engineering solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role leading teams of 10 or more.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Inventor is a must.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, engineering practices, and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material specifications is a plus.
